SEXWHEL is built on a simple commitment: anything that comes into contact with your skin should be safe, body-friendly, and made from materials we'd be comfortable using ourselves. We take international safety standards as our reference, source FDA-grade silicone for body-contact components, and partner only with manufacturers who can document the materials they use.
Every body-contact surface on a SEXWHEL product is held to these four standards.
In 2021, the International Organization for Standardization published ISO 3533, the first internationally recognized standard for the safety of sex toys. It addresses mechanical safety, electrical safety, hygiene, and biocompatibility for products in intimate contact with the body. We treat this standard as our design and quality reference: it informs how we evaluate body-contact materials, how we design rounded edges, how we specify charging components, and how we instruct our manufacturers on hygiene-friendly construction.
The silicone we specify for body-contact surfaces meets the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's standards for skin-contact materials. FDA's relevant guidance for silicone elastomers can be reviewed at 21 CFR 177.2600. We require material certification documents from our silicone suppliers and retain them on file.
Products with electronic components (vibrators, app-connected devices, charging accessories) are designed with reference to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and CE marking requirements where applicable, helping ensure electronic safety and limited use of hazardous substances.
